AT ESF WE WANT YOU TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR LESSONS. OUR VIDEOS WILL EXPLAIN WHAT LEVEL YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING TOWARDS

Using the guide below click on which discipline you would like lessons for and whether you are a child, adult or a performance skier. The levels are displayed with a brief description and video where you can assess the level for yourself or your child. Choose the level closest to your ability and you can then book direct through the online booking or enquiry form.

Don't worry if you are not quite sure, you will be assessed on your first day in the resort with the instructor and moved up or down the levels accordingly.

How many adult ski levels are there?
ESF ski schools have defined 4 different ski levels for adults to suit a wide range of abilities from beginners to advanced skiers.  Our lessons provide you with the necessary instruction and techniques to master each level.

What does each adult ski level involve?
1ST SKI - STAGE 1 : Becoming familiar with the equipment and snow. Balance while sliding over smooth terrain on a gentle slope. Snowplough turn. Controlling speed using a snaking trajectory. Using ski lifts.
1ST DEGREE - STAGE 2: Descending in an elementary turn on a gentle to moderately steep slope. Elementary direct line. Elementary sideslipping: uphill swing, at an angle. Step turns sliding uphill.
2ND DEGREE - STAGE 3 Descent with a basic parallel turn on a varied, moderately steep slope. Basic direct line. Basic sideslips and garlands.
3RD DEGREE - STAGE 4 Descent with perfect turns on all types of piste. Perfect direct line. Perfect high-speed turn. Experience of skiing in all types of snow and terrain. Basic high-speed turns.
